Donna Karan
An American fashion designer and the creator of the DKNY clothing labels.
Karan was born Donna Ivy Faske in Forest Hills, Queens, USA. Her stepfather was a tailor, and her mother was a model. So she could be influenced by fashion from the time when she was a child. When she was 14 years old, She started selling clothing on Cedarhurst, New York's Central Avenue. After graduating college, Karan worked for Anne Klein, eventually becoming head of the Anne Klein design-team. In 1985, she launched her own business "to design modern clothes for modern people". In the same year she showed her first women's clothing collection. In 1988, Karan extended her women's DKNY line by a less expensive one for younger women. Especially, her clothes have attracted the notice of career women because Karan designs is comfortable, active and womanly clothes.
By now, Donna Karan has been regarded as a female designer who design very delicate and practical clothes.
